It's my Mom's Birthday

Today is my Mom's birthday. Although I already sent her a birthday card, her birthday was my inspiration for this penguin card. I got this sketch from a Yahoo Dry Embossing group that I belong to. Each month there is a different sketch to follow. It is always amazing to see how everyone comes up with something different. The template and paper are both by Lasting Impressions. The stamp which says "Happy Brrrrthday" is by A Muse. Happy Birthday Mom!

Red Nose Repair Kits

I made 25 of these nose kits for people at work this year. They took a TON of time (I started on them in early October), but they were worth it. They are so cute in person. The box template is a stamp by Inky Antics. Once you stamp it, you just cut on the solid lines and score on the dotted lines of the stamped image. Rudolph & the saying inside the box are also images by Inky Antics. I cut a window in the box and used acetate to make a window so you can see the replacement noses. The saying inside says "Rudolph guides 'ol Santa's sleigh, His nose glows red to point the way. But if it flickers on Christmas night, Just use these replacement lights!" I used Cherry Sour candies for the replacement lights (It took almost 5 pounds of candy to make 25 kits!) I sure hope Santa brings me a Scor-It before I try to mass produce these boxes again!

More Christmas Gifts

I made this cute little tin for my brother's girlfriend. I usually decorate a paint can for him and his girlfriend every year and fill them with lots of goodies. This year, I wanted to do something different for her. I'm getting tired of the paint can thing. So I decorated this lunchbox tin that I got from Oriental Trading. I used Alcohol Inks to cover the outside (it was white to begin with). I dry embossed the reindeer and paper pieced it onto the tin. The paper and stencils are by Lasting Impressions. The felt ribbon is by Lasting Impressions too. I hope she likes this gift, I'm giving it late this year as I had to work Christmas week and New years week, and will be celebrating with my family January 5th-8th. I can't wait to go home! I hope I get to see some snow!

Finally!

I've really been enjoying reading a lot of crafting blogs lately so I thought I would start my own. I'm posting a pic of some easy gifts I made this year for people at my office. I took the jewelery bags that Michael's sells, filled them with candy and used my Marvy scalloped circle punches to make the toppers. The reindeer stamp is by A Muse, and I decorated the topper with Stickles. I don't use Stickles a lot, I'm not crazy about the look of glitter or how it hangs around FOREVER, but I thought since I was giving these as gifts and wouldn't have to look at them again, glitter was good!
