Circus Card
It's been awhile since I posted a punch card. Natasha is having a card contest for the people who took her Punch Happy class. The winner receives her next Holiday Punch Happy online card class for free. I made this card for her contest, and I am really happy with how it turned out!! I love cards with bright colors although I don't think I use them a lot in my own card making. I found the idea for the circus card from two posts on Splitcoast Stampers here and here. I'm working on instructions for how I made the tent card, and I'll share them later this week. My clown is a combination of other punch clowns I've seen, and I included a picture of my punch instructions for making the clown below. The elephant is not my creation, I got the instructions for how to make him from Heather's online simply punches class. Hope you like this card, it was so fun to make!

Cupcakes!
I'm still swapping with the Iron Chef group. Each month a secret ingredient is chosen and each person has to choose a food category. This month was my month to choose the secret ingredient. I did something a little bit different, I chose Cupcakes as the secret ingredient and each participant chose a color. I chose red and used this chocolate cherry cupcake recipe for my cards. While I had all the papers out on my craft table, I made a card to match the recipes. I used Lasting Impressions paper and the cupcake was made using a Lasting Impressions template. The recipe and Happy Birthday sentiment on the card were both printed from my computer. Hope you have a great weekend!

Vacation
I'm back from vacation! We had a wonderful time. We went hiking at Bushkill Falls in the Poconos. It was really hot that day, but well worth the pain & suffering of hiking in the heat to see this gorgeous waterfall. We also rented a sailboat for a day and went sailing. There wasn't much wind so we spent most of the time floating around the lake instead of actually sailing! Rusty did well on the boat, she spent most of the time in the cabin of the boat trying to find a shady spot to curl up and take a nap. I'll be back tomorrow with some new creations!

Seahorse Card
Just a quick post today. I'm really busy at work and home, and we're getting ready to go on vacation in a few days! We're going to the Poconos for a few days and even though it's a short vacation, it's tough to pack up stuff for both myself and the dogs! This is a quick card I made one evening. I used two Lasting Impressions templates and Lasting Impressions paper. Not much to it. I've had those seahorse templates for awhile and this is the first time I've used them. Hope you're having a great day!

New Baby Gift
I am taking an online class from Heather called Simply Babies. She does a lot of online punch art classes but this class focused on baby stuff. It's a great class. I am finding that a lot of the projects she posts for the class can be used for other ocassions. One of the projects she posted for the class was this box with a window (transparency) that can hold a set of onesies. I made this set for my friend Eva who is having a baby soon. She loves penguins and I stamped the onesies using a Memory Box penguin stamp. Then I colored it with Copic markers. I found several tutorials online for stamping on fabric, but the one I followed said to stamp in black Brilliance ink and then set with a heat tool. While the fabric is still warm, color with the Copics (helps the color to spread a bit). The tutorial said the ink was permanent, she said she washed the onesies in warm water with bleach and the color didn't come out! So I'm taking her word for it and hoping that's true!

She wore an....
I made this card for a swap on the Yahoo Embossing Group I belong to - it was for cards with a window cut out of the front. I used my Nestabilities to cut the circle on the front of the card. I was looking through my templates and this song popped in my head when I saw the bikini template. It didn't turn out exactly how I planned. I really wanted more words on the front and all the words on the inside to be on one side of the card. But oh well, I'm okay with how it turned out anyway. The doodling around the front of the card is done with a white pen that was RAK'd to me from Lisa. Hope you're having a nice week!
