10 in 10 cards

A couple weeks ago, I took Laura's 10 in 10 Christmas card class. I love her 10 in 10 classes, you get great ideas for making 10 cards, each in 10 minutes or less. Perfect for mass producing Christmas cards!! Here are a couple of my favorite cards from the class. I'm working on making my Christmas cards today so I'll have some more cards to post later this week. Hope you're having a fantastic long weekend.

Penguins!!

You know how I am with my little treat holders... {Obsessed!!} I saw this idea on Splitcoast last year and decided to make them. I changed the pattern a little bit. Here are my directions:
  • 6" x 1 3/4" black piece of cardstock for the body.
  • Score at 2 1/2" and 3 3/4"
  • Fold ends toward each other, cut small triangle from the top sides to form a head shape.
  • Punch two small holes at the top and tie ribbon through.
  • White oval on body is the Stampin Up large oval punch; punch it and then stick the top of the oval back in the punch to cut away part of the top. Ink edges.
  • Punch arms using the Stampin Up large oval punch; hand cut out to the shape of arms.
  • Hand cut the beak from orange paper.
  • Punch feet from orange paper using the Stampin Up word window punch, then cut the rounded ends of the punched piece off using decorative scissors to resemble toes.
  • Attach small google eyes
  • Add candy (I used 2 hershey kisses)
I've made 40 of these so far. Very time consuming but the result is super cute. Hope you like them!

Baby Card

My friend Jennie had a beautiful baby girl recently so I made this card for her. I used a Lasting Impressions template (thanks to my friend Jen for giving it to me!) and Lasting Impressions paper for the card. Sorry this is a quick post, I'm running late for work and wanted to post this before I head out the door!
Have a great day!

Gum Holder

I signed up for a swap on the PaperCrafts site for Christmas gifts. Each participant has to make a little papercrafted gift; it could be a treat holder, a bag topper, whatever! I decided to make gum holders. I love this little tree stamp by A Muse, I think it's so cute. I colored the image in with my Copic markers. I got the template for the gum holder on this site. I can't wait to see what I get back, I'm such a sucker for cute little treat holders! I hope to get some more ideas for other Christmas gifts.

Gobble Til Ya Wobble!

Hi, Just a quick post because I'm really busy today! I love this stencil but I think this is the first time I've used it! I've had it for a couple years. I made this card based on the sketch above. Hope you have a great weekend!

Sandy Claws Treat Carton!

Isn't this so cute!? I'll admit, it took me a long time to make this, I probably have 4 hours into this project. But I think now that I have made one, the next one should go a little bit faster. The little milk cartons open at the bottom so they can stay in tact. I plan to put some candy in them and give them as gifts this year. I got the template for the milk cartons and holder here. The stamps I used are from Stampin Up. I love this set, it makes me smile. "Sandy Claws and Jingle Shells"?? Who thinks of this stuff!? I'll be posting more of these before Christmas!

Dove Challenge

The yahoo embossing group I belong to has been hosting monthly challenges using images. One person embosses an image and sends it to anyone who wants to participate in the challenge. The only requirement is to make a card using the image sent to you. Honestly, I was not inspired by this dove at all. I do not own this template, and it's not one I would buy. My style is more cutesy. So it took me a few days of thinking about it before I got some inspiration. Turns out that inspiration was the new Basic Grey paper! I love this paper! I just think it is gorgeous. I don't think I have ever made a card using a dry embossed image not using Lasting Impressions paper. I love how this card turned out. I think the vellum image just pops on this paper. Hope you had a nice weekend!

Rusty Won 2nd Place in the Costume Contest!

Rusty won 2nd place in the costume contest! Thank you to everyone who voted! We won a Thanksgiving centerpiece (the contest was sponsored by our local florist). I feel bad that Rusty didn't get anything for her humiliation! Only the first place winner got a pet treat gift basket. Maybe I'll get her something special next time I'm at the store.

I am going to an all day crop tomorrow so hope to be posting some cards soon. I just haven't been in the mood to craft lately. Don't know what's wrong with me!!
